Dear AHEG participants,The upcoming AHEG for the Midterm Review of the International Arrangement on Forests will be held at the Vienna International Center (VIC), home to the UN Office in Vienna (UNOV), from 10-13 October 2023.

To facilitate your access to the VIC, we kindly request that you finish the pre-registration process for UNOV by submitting a digital profile photo. The link for uploading your photo was sent to you earlier this week via unodc-conferenceregistration@un.org in an email entitled “UN conference registration”. The deadline for submitting your photo is 1:00 pm on 9 October (Vienna time).Please take note of the following essential information regarding your ground pass for the VIC and the meeting schedule:

• Meeting Venue and Daily Schedule: The
  AHEG meeting will be held in Conference Room 3, on the 7^th floor of C-building, from 10-13 October 2023. The daily sessions are scheduled from 10:00 am-1:00 pm and 3:00 pm-6:00 pm. We kindly request all participants to arrive early on the first day of the meeting to allow time for security check and pass collection.
• Pass Collection Location: Pre-registered participants can collect their pre-printed ground passes from 8:00 am on 10 October at a dedicated registration desk located after Gate 1 security check at the VIC. The desk is positioned to the right side of the Pass Office. When collecting your pass, kindly present your passport or another photo ID.
• On-Site Registration: Participants who did not complete the pre-registration process must visit the Pass Office at Gate 1 of the VIC. The office is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. On-site registration will include taking your photo and issuing passes. Please keep your passport or another photo ID ready.
• Permanent Mission Participants: Individuals from the Permanent Mission to the UN Office in Vienna, possessing existing VIC badges, can use their badges for meeting room access.

UNFF AHEG Coordination Meeting Vienna

Together with Leticia and Jawad I attended the meeting. Since I joined a little late due to internet connection, I could not follow what was discussed at the opening.

I am attaching two screenshot of the meeting participants. I think the proposed AHEG Co-Chairs, the resource persons, and UNFFS team were ready there. The Secretariat provided information about AHEG preparations, the method to be followed and possible outputs.
